I hate facebook

It has been awhile since I updated you on Charli Su'.  Everyone loves facebook except me, and I can't navigate through it.

Charli Su' and Heidi have had a busy time since my last post in April.  In May Charli Su' flew to Denver with Mama, Babu, Papu, Uncle Teddy, Uncle Jeremy, Aunt Nikki, Mackenzie, Sophie and Jonah to attend the high school graduation of Samantha, our oldest granddaughter.  Charli had a great time with her cousins and touring Colorado.

 

Charli Su' and Heidi stayed in Georgia for several days after returning from Denver. Charli Su' was able to spend time with Aunt Danette, Riley and Dekland before they moved to Chicago.

 

Samantha had come to Georgia to spend the week with us.  Charli Su', Samantha, and Heidi spent several days at the beach on Saint Simons.  These are pictures of my first and last granddaughters.

   

After returning to Florida, Charli Su' and Heidi moved into a house.  Babu has her own room in the house with her things so that she doesn't have to pack a suitcase to visit Charli Su'.

Over the fourth of July, the above mentioned group (all except Teddy who moved his family to Chicago) were in Orlando.  Babu, Papu, Charli Su' and Mama stayed at the Animal Kingdom lodge in a room overlooking the savannah with African animals.  It was a lot of fun.

Charli Su' started pre-K this week.  She was so excited.  Heidi, Babu and Aunt Nikki attended the Women of Faith event in Tampa on the 14th and 15th of August; so, I had the privilege of baby-sitting CS.  We had a great time.  We went to lunch at McDonalds after shopping for a new book bag and lunch box.  Charli Su' had taken Babu school clothes shopping before they went to the conference.

On August 10, Heidi and Charli Su' celebrated four years of being together.  Time has flown by.  God has been so good.  We are so happy that Charli Su' is a part of our lives and a member of our nine wonderful grandchildren.

We're Back

Heidi's time is totally consumed with Charli Su' and Pine Island Community Church.  She hasn't had time to update the blog.  Many of you have asked about Charli Su' so I thought I would give show what has been happeining since October.

Since this was the year that Teddy and Jeremy spent Thanksgiving with their other families, Heidi and Charli Su' spent Thanksgiving with Babu and Papu at the Disney Vaction Club in Orlando.  Once again, Heidi made an appointment with the Princess beauty parlor.  And once again, the Princess attitude rose to the forefront.  Heidi has vowed never to do that again.  We had Thanksgiving dinner cooked in the condo in a crockpot and micorwave - it was a great dinner - turkey breast, dressing, Bob Evans mashed potatoes, Bob Evans green bean casserole, and pumpkin pie Babu had baked before leaving home.

Christmas for the Grueser family was spent at Pine Island.  Uncle Jeremy and Aunt Nikki came from Indiana with Mackenzie, Sophie, and Jonal.  Uncle Ted and Aunt Danette came from Georgia with Riley and Dekland.  And, of course Babu and Papu were there.  We had a wonderful time.  Everyone attended Christmas Eve service, where Mama "treached" a great sermon.  Christmas day we had Christmas dinner at the house where Teddy and Jeremy were staying.  The next two days, the family was taken on boating adventures insthe area.  See the attached pictures.

Easter was spent on Pine Island.  Heidi preached a Good Friday service at 7:30 AM at Bert's Bar and had a crowd.  Sunrise service was preached at a garden center and was attended by75% or her congregation; and Easter service was preached at 10:00 AM.  Is it any wonder Heidi doesn't have time for a blog?  Babu and Papu and Charli Su' painted Easter cookies the day before Easter - much less messy than dyeing eggs.

I'm still recovering...how long should it take to recoop from a 4 year old's birthday? Last Sunday I invited the whole church (just what was I thinking...okay, I wasn't) to the park to help celebrate Charli Su's 4th birthday (can you believe she is 4?). We had over 100 people, it was not a birthday party, but an EVENT! I was humbled at the love our church and community have for Charli Su', the love was truly overwhelming. We are so fortunate to live here and have a church and community who are so loving and family oriented. Yet, it is Charli Su' we are talking about and who does not either know or love her? And if you love her you cannot help but love her. Okay, yes I am very pro Charli Su'. Yet, how can I not be, I'm her Mama! HA!

Charli Su' wanted to dress up like Tinkerbell. No worries, Cinderella is still her favorite, but Tinkerbell might give the prima princess a run for her money in Charli Su's book. So, like a good Mama I ordered the Tink Costume and presented it to Charli Su' the night before her party. She donned the outfit and it was as though Tink came to life! Wow! Talk about something fitting like a glove...not only did the costume fit, but it was as though the costume came to life! HA!

Charli had a great party and birthday...it has actually taken her many days to recover too.

Communion

Monday morning 1:50 A.M. July 28, 2008

I can't sleep. Charli Su' crawled into my bed around 12:00, kicked Coconut out of his spot and nestled right into me. Darling. Except once Coconut is up, I am up too--so much for a neurotic puppy. So here we are with you.

Let me tell you about this morning--have you ever knelt at the communion rail in church with a growling stomach? It is that time right before lunch and the church service is about to end and you know lunch is just about 20 minutes away?

Charli Su' knelt at the Communion rail in church today as I gave Communion to our folks --and out loud asked if she could have seconds. "But I'm hungry Mama!" Then her strong arms wrapped around my neck as I balanced the communion chalice and bread in the other hand---all I saw pass in front of me was her white dress (compliments to Babu) and the grape juice splashing all over her---

What does a child do when her Mama is the Preacher or as she calls me the "Freacher". Sounds like a character off the old Tv show The Monsters. Most times during church she is amazing--often times she likes to give her own commentaries on my sermon--at least she is listening? She is not shy about speaking up and sharing her thoughts--it is not unusual for me to be on a roll and preaching about what God has laid on my heart and I catch her being carried off out in into the couryard to find lizards. This also catches the eyes of the congregation and just like a strong hurricane wind, all heads at once turn to watch her suit up to Lizard hunt in the courtyard.

Over all, Charli Su' loves church--perhaps b/c she runs the show?
